In our recent community council with the Chiesi Total Care Team, we delved into the comprehensive support services offered to patients. The Chiesi Total Care Team serves as a one-stop resource designed to make the therapeutic journey smoother for individuals dealing with rare diseases.
The dedicated team made up of pharmacists, case managers, virtual wound care nurses, insurance support, and more aim to ensure patients are supported every step of the way, from the moment a prescription is made to ongoing care and advocacy.

- Pricing depends on the insurance plan. Chiesi supports Medicaid and Medicare and offers co-pay assistance through Chiesi Total Care for commercial insurance plans. A separate 501(c)(3) foundation provides additional financial assistance for Medicaid and Medicare patients. Chiesi Total Care will provide you with information regarding the different copay assistance programs available, and if you do not have insurance coverage, you may be eligible for additional financial assistance.*
- QUESTION: Do you have any advice on how to bypass the multiple denials received before finally getting approvals from insurance companies?
- Ensure the healthcare provider submits comprehensive information and medical profiles, including wound pictures. Chiesi Total Care Team can assist with making appeals to your insurance providers, requiring additional consent.

- QUESTION: We have in-home health care that are registered nurses or LPN’s, can they be briefed and instructed on how to apply FILSUVEZ?
- The Chiesi Total Care Team can assist with educating the patient’s current home health nurse. In order to do so, the patient family will likely need to provide consent for the Panther wound care nurse to speak to the home health nurse if they are discussing a specific patient.
- Please note that Panther wound care nurses will never travel to a patient home. The Panther nurse will communicate with the patient/family via telephone, email, or Zoom to provide education.
