Polar Plunge in honor of Staten Islander with rare skin disease planned for this month

A fundraising Polar Plunge to honor John Hudson Dilgen will take place this month in South Beach to raise awareness and research funding for epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare, life-threatening genetic disorder that the young Tottenville man has been battling since infancy. During the Plunge for John Hudson, set for March 23, participants will head into the frigid ocean off South Beach, raising funds to support the EB Research Partnership (EBRP), the largest non-profit organization dedicated to funding research aimed at treating and ultimately curing EB.
