KATRINA PARKE
CHIEF OF STAFF Katrina Parke joined the EBRP team in 2024, bringing with her over 10 years of experience as an Executive Assistant and Chief of Staff. After graduating from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Public Health, she gained experience in interior and landscape design, restaurants, event planning, and most recently, at a real estate law firm. She firmly believes in the power of Executive Assistants and the positive impact they can have on any organization. She lives in Connecticut with her partner and their rescue dog. They frequently go on walks and know every dog in the neighborhood. |
ALLISON MCGETTIGAN
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS
Allison joined the EBRP team in 2022. She graduated magna cum laude from New York University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a double minor in American Sign Language and Psychology. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. During her undergraduate career, Allison held positions in multiple nonprofit organizations, including the Take Back the Night Foundation, Project Lockdown and Advance Charity London. After graduating, Allison joined a nonprofit consulting firm where she managed a portfolio of clients and coordinated their charitable operations, from grantmaking to data analysis and events. She lives in New York with her partner and their rescue dog.

MARGOT SOSA
DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
Margot joined the EBRP team in 2024. She graduated from McGill University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honors International Development and a minor in Biology. During her undergraduate career, Margot sought avenues to combine her interest in biology with her passion for and experiences in the nonprofit sector. She interned at multiple nonprofit organizations, including the Boston International Turner Syndrome Summit, Substantial Classrooms, and Action for Women’s Empowerment Global (formerly Artistri Sud). After graduating, Margot worked at Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity as an Educational Leadership Consultant where she delivered customizable leadership development and education to collegiate students. She now lives in Connecticut.

Dan McKernanHEAD OF PHILANTHROPY
Dan McKernan joins the EBRP team with over 15 years of non-profit experience and a history of launching multiple technology start-up companies. As the founder of Barn Sanctuary, Dan helped transform his 140-year-old family farm into a sanctuary for rescued animals, building a community of over 2.2 million followers and raising $2 million annually. Before focusing on non-profit work, Dan developed his career in tech, where he specialized in creating user experiences and innovative solutions. His journey includes collaborations with the Nelson Mandela family and Education Africa, working on strategic planning to improve pediatric healthcare in South Africa. Dan brings to EBRP his experience in digital engagement and strategic fundraising, along with a commitment to creating meaningful change. He looks forward to advancing EBRP's vital mission to accelerate treatments and improve lives for those affected by EB. Dan lives in Michigan with his wife and daughter, with another baby on the way. The stories of families affected by EB inspired me to join EBRP and their innovative venture philanthropy model for advancing rare disease treatments. My experience has shown that when you combine strategic funding with strong community support, real change happens. I'm looking forward to being part of this determined team working to transform lives |
TERRY MICKELSON
CONTROLLER
Terry joined YPTC in 2024, bringing extensive experience in nonprofit financial management. Most recently, he served as the Director of Finance & HR at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, where he oversaw financial reporting, budgeting, grant compliance, and human resources for the historic institution.
As an outsourced Controller, Terry has provided financial leadership and strategic guidance to mission-driven organizations. With a strong background in accounting systems, process improvement, and regulatory compliance, he is committed to ensuring financial transparency and operational efficiency. Beyond his professional work, Terry has served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations and currently holds the role of Board Treasurer at the Lexington Real Foods Cooperative. |
