VENTURE INTO CURES: the digital series

From 2020 to 2022, this inspiring digital event series raised incredible awareness and funds for EB, totaling over $6M and receiving more than 225K unique views across over 70 countries. We were so grateful to be joined by EB community members, doctors and researchers, and a host of celebrity friends across the three shows, including Eddie and Jill Vedder, Billie Eilish, Will Ferrell, Tom Holland, John Legend, Selena Gomez, Keanu Reeves, Olivia Rodrigo, Emma Watson, Zendaya, and more. The support of the Venture Into Cures audience, donors, and the patient and medical communities helped fuel the most innovative and impactful global EB research, and that mission continues today until a cure is found.

ABOUT EB RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP

EB Research Partnership (EBRP) was founded in 2010 by a group of dedicated parents along with Jill and Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) with one bold audacious goal: epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and in the process pioneer an innovative business and technology model to lead the way for 7,000 other rare diseases. EB is a life-threatening genetic skin disorder. Individuals with EB, often called “Butterfly Children,” lack critical proteins that bind the skin together. With skin as fragile as a butterfly’s wings, they experience constant pain, severe blisters, disfigurement, and internal and external wounds that may never heal. Today, there is no cure for EB. EB Research Partnership (EBRP) is changing that.

Since 2010, EBRP has made remarkable strides, raising over $50M to fund 120+ innovative EB research projects, including funding the first-ever FDA-approved EB treatment. This approval marks a momentous milestone in their mission to cure EB by 2030 and pioneer a path for the 400M battling rare disease.

THE VENTURE INTO CURES LEGACY
Building off of the momentum of these 3 digital shows, Eddie Vedder played two intimate concerts in his hometown at Benaroya Hall to bring support EB Research Partnership. Ahead of the exclusive Eddie Vedder shows, EBRP brought together the brightest minds across medical research, tech, science, and more, for the inaugural Venture into Cures Summit. This inspiring day of interactive sessions and keynotes was followed by the Venture Into Cures Dinner at Chihuly Garden & Glass.
